I thought this was a great video. After showing some game footage, the practice starts with simple two man actions that build upon one another as they progress to three, four, and five man drills or routines. What I really like about this video is that it shows the seemless flow of different drills and scrimmages throughout the practice, and it shows what a great practice looks like.
This video does not include white board diagrams with x’s and o’s or step by step walk throughs of offensive actions and plays. This video is probably not for someone who is looking for those things. There is little if any stopping the practice activities to explain things or give the players feedback. Instead, coach Brey narrates as the practice drills are actually being performed, and he gives plenty of feedback to the players without ever stopping the action. It is a highly structured, well sequenced, purposeful practice with highly focused players, and it was probably the most fluid creative practice I have ever seen. The number one take away for me is that the video shows how to run a great motion offense practice in an actual practice setting, and the practice looked fun without compromising on excellence or high performance. An excellent video in my opinion.
