This on-court demonstration is jam-packed with tips and tools to win games when only seconds are left on the clock. Phil Martelli is a master at analyzing what his teams must do to clinch a win in the final seconds of the game. In this terrific on-court demonstration, Coach Martelli addresses multiple situations where your team might be able to steal a game-winning basket by being prepared for those all-important special situations that arise in tight games.

Coach Martelli covers the most common late-game, special situations, including:

fouling at the end of a game
intentionally missing a free throw
rebounding an intentionally missed free throw when you're down 2 points
rebounding an intentionally missed free throw when you're down 3 points
full-court plays when you are down by 2, 3, or 4 with only 6 seconds left
communicating with teammates to save the ball out-of-bounds
tweaking your full-court press to get a 5-second call on your opponent inbounding the ball late in the game

Great video on the small details within stealing points via free throw situations, and different late game situations that occur. Provides a lot of great ideas to give your team a chance and be prepared for any late game situation. You will get something out of this video that will help you win more games.

I like Phil Martelli's videos, even the old out-of-print videos. Like other coaches with a lot of videos out there, some of this stuff you'll have heard before if you have seen his previous videos.

Phil starts by going into whether your players know how to foul when you need them to, something he has mentioned in at least two other videos. Next he goes into missing foul shots on purpose, and how to recover if you're down by 2 or 3 points.

He does have quite a lot of new stuff such as slobs, blobs, saving the ball and other special situations, so it's not all recycled - just a few elements are.

This is just an example of what he goes over, and even if you never use some of the stuff he goes over they are at least good food for thought. Great stuff. 5/5 stars
