Features & Benefits Improve your Basketball coaching!Learn from Swen Nater!Take your team to the next level!Learn from the best, to become your best! with Swen Nater,John Wooden-coached player, Only college player in history to be drafted in the 1st round of the ABA/NBA draft without ever having started a college game. ABA Rookie of the Year ('74) Swen Nater experienced championship level basketball as a center during the glory years of UCLA basketball under Coach John Wooden. These drills cover warm-up and conditioning, defensive slides, pivoting, shooting, defensive block outs, offensive rebounding and fast breaks. The drill segment also includes the "single best drill I've ever seen" by Nater, the Rebound Pass out drill, which combines passing, timing and cutting. The famous UCLA high post offense is broken down and explained, and, Nater also discusses the teaching points of the Bruin fast break offense. 65 minutes. 2007. Ratings & Reviews Return to Glory - UCLA Practice Organization & Drills on October 12, 2017 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by JohnBostrom881 I agree with the other reviewers, this video does have a good amount of drills to choose from that teach fundamentals. I also like the quick continuity of practice, keeping things back to back with little lag time. That's the good. The downside is that Swen Nater, despite all his playing experience tends to interrupt drills and play frequently. He is far sweatier in this video than the players ever get, and if he had instead focused on showing how Wooden practiced rather than trying to make some kids he met an hour ago play that way it would have been a better video with possibly more content. He constantly comments how slow they are, how we never did it this way, how we never had time to take an extra breath of air and while I have no doubt that is absolutely true, but equally it just isn't how kids tend to practice these days. An interesting video, great for drills but missing the point I think in other areas. 4/5 stars Was this review helpful? I will use a lot of the concepts in this video. I how he continuously states how if your practices our fast paced, moving immediately to the next drill, you do not have to do suicides. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? He does a good job of stressing how each second of practice is important. I will use a lot of what I learned in this video and apply it to my practices.
