Review of Volleyball Coaches Videos
As a coach, I come from a somewhat different background than many volleyball coaches. I never played volleyball competitively myself, but I have spent many years coaching successful wrestling and volleyball programs. Because of that, I tend to look beyond technical skills and focus on leadership, culture, preparation, accountability, and athlete development.
What stands out most about these videos is the coach’s honesty. There is no attempt to overcomplicate the game or sell a magic solution. The content is straightforward, practical, and grounded in real coaching experience. The lessons extend far beyond volleyball and apply to athletics as a whole.
Of all the coaching resources I have listened to, these have become some of my favorites. The coach presents information in a way that is easy to understand while still challenging coaches to think critically about their own programs. Whether discussing practice structure, player development, team culture, or competitive mindset, the message consistently emphasizes doing the simple things well and building sustainable habits.
Despite only having access to four of the videos, I have already taken away several valuable ideas that have influenced my own coaching. The concepts are not limited to volleyball—they apply to any program striving for long-term success. As a wrestling coach, I found many of the discussions on accountability, communication, athlete ownership, and culture building directly transferable to my wrestling room.
What I appreciate most is that the coach focuses on developing people first and athletes second. Winning is important, but the emphasis on standards, effort, preparation, and personal growth creates a framework that naturally leads to success. That philosophy aligns closely with my own beliefs as a coach.
I would highly recommend these videos to both new and experienced coaches. Even coaches from other sports can benefit from the lessons shared. The information is practical, honest, and immediately applicable. For me, these videos have reinforced many of the principles I already believe in while also providing new perspectives that have made me a better coach.
“The best coaching resources don’t just teach a sport—they teach how to build athletes, teams, and culture. These videos do exactly that.”
