Javelin Technique, Drills & Progressions features Niceville High School throws coach Emily Webb, leader of one of the most dominant throwing programs in the southeastern United States. Webb's throwers have produced state champions, runner-ups, conference champions and nearly 50 college commits. Her approach makes javelin technique simple to understand and easy to teach.

The video begins with essential injury-prevention protocols, including band routines and implement-based stretches designed to prime the shoulder, elbow and core for explosive movements. Coach Webb also provides modifications for athletes with mobility limitations, ensuring safe and effective training sessions for everyone.

Next, Coach Webb breaks the javelin throw into a clear progression, starting with the Power Position, advancing to Walking Throws, Happy 3 and Happy 7 drills, and culminating in full-runway throws. These progressions build proper rhythm, footwork, posture and timing.

Using medicine balls, cones and goalpost targets, Coach Webb reinforces hip-driven power, efficient energy transfer, and proper release angles. She emphasizes real-time teaching cues, immediate corrections and individualized adaptations for throwers at every level.
