Practice Perfection for the 4-2-5 Defense

Organization and the will to prepare effectively are the keys to defensive success at any level. Drew Sanders chalks you through his dynamic practice schedule detailing his complete practice plans for each day of the week.

Coach Sanders begins with his daily checklists he uses with his staff prior to the start of each week to make sure that his team is prepared for Friday night. The daily drills are broken down and demonstrated on the board for better understanding.

On Monday Sanders stresses his base defense and running to the ball with his Speed Pursuit drill. He works half line secondary drills to create superior execution by isolating the strong side and the weak side of his pass coverage. Tuesday his team stresses red zone defense, defending bunch sets as well as executing his blitz drill that will get the defense 30-40 repetitions in only 5 minutes. His "Back in Black" drill creates high energy toward the end of practice and creates competition for the younger players on the team.

Wednesday the team works on situational defense and no stone is left unturned as you will see in the 2-minute defense, milk it and victory segments in practice. Sanders spends time on angle of pursuit to end his daily practices.

Each drill is broken down on the board and then practice footage is provided to reinforce what had been drawn. All drills and ideas provided by Sanders are ready to implement right away for instant success.
