Running a hurry up no huddle offense often requires teams to "shrink" the playbook and sacrifice schemes for the sake of speed. Coach David Joyce has developed a system that allows the offense to run base plays that can be adjusted with simple tags to take advantage of defensive schemes. The end result is an offense capable of a hurry-up no huddle tempo; with the flexibility to take advantage of defensive adjustments with fewer plays.

Organize a Successful Program

Coach Joyce begins by presenting his thoughts on program development and organization. He also shares his "Five Pillars" for success, which outline the program's beliefs and core values. Joyce then gives his thoughts on how to set up an offensive system by presenting his "backwards map" to score 42 points per game. He explains how these concepts have been successful in several programs, and can work in nearly any situation.

Next, Coach Joyce goes into specifics regarding his offense. You'll get an explanation as to why and how his team plays with a 2-minute tempo the entire game. Several reasons are given as to why this works and some examples of pitfalls to avoid when implementing the system are also discussed. Finally, Joyce demonstrates various concepts of his offense using game film. The concepts included are power schemes, option schemes utilizing gap blocking, verticals, and quick passing game concepts.
