Coach Scott Davenport uses skill development and practice sessions in this video to showcase the fast-paced, fundamental drills his staff uses at Bellarmine to become one of the most efficient scoring teams in the nation. You'll see multiple drills and practice development segments that will allow your team to succeed on offense.

Skill Session

Davenport and his staff work with players to develop their shooting footwork, shot fakes, spacing, and passing and catching abilities. Using simple drills and emphasizing footwork, athletes work on finishing moves around the rim, bank shots, sprinting the floor and using jump stops, and compete in competitive shooting drills. These are excellent team drills for players to develop a competitive edge and improve game skills at full speed!

Practice Session

Next, Coach Davenport showcases the fast pace that his team practices at in order to put pressure on the defense and speed them up. Using a 5-on-4 advantage, players work on their full court passing, catchings, and attacking. By putting players in the 5-on-4 advantage, Davenport forces the defense to make difficult choices. Offensive players read the defense and attack the basket. Coach Davenport trains his players to get their shoulders square and use small, simple fakes. Your players will learn the skills they can use at a fast pace to become unstoppable scorers.

Overall, this video provides you with strong content to help build your individual and overall team skill sets before, during, and after the season. You can tell from start to finish that Coach Davenport emphasizes the little things in order for his teams to be successful. Use these drills to help your team take care of the ball and build a better field goal percentage this season.

Some really good stuff certainly get the idea of what is important in their program and drills to improve those areas. Sometimes when the assistants were explaining a drill you could not hear them early in video. Got fixed later. Also could have used more explanation on some of the drills. But good stuff here though
