Coach Wright believes that by making this a part of your practices, your players will develop confidence to execute game winning plays when it counts - in any situation. Wright places special emphasis on three areas: Press offense, foul line situations and out of bounds plays. A key to execution late in a game is keeping things simple. What coaches think is simple to execute is not always what the players think. Another key involves spacing. Wright believes that "spacing is offense, and offense is spacing." Wright sets up his attack against full court defenses. This attack is simple and keeps good spacing for passes and keeps the ball in the hands of perimeter players. Wright sets up a play from the opponent's foul line to score with 3 seconds going full court. Wright then shares plays for four situations, including: baseline OB, sideline OB, backcourt OB and end line OB. In these "short clock" situations, you must have a play from each spot. He groups these plays into 1-3 second plays and 4-7 second plays. Coach Wright does an amazing job in this instructional video of transferring his knowledge into execution and clarity for his players!
