Coach Neal wastes no time spending less than a minute explaining what he is going to do and then we get straight into it.
For the 2-3, you see what you usually see, high post flashing, short corner, overloads, ball screens, and skip passes. This isn't that different from other 2-3 zone offenses. He does give a couple sets but doesn't run through them 5v0 (sometimes not more than once) so if you really wanted to capture these to add to your offense you're going to need to watch each set a few times. None of these are continuity either, they are all plays/sets.
There are quick hitters and blob/slob sets shown which aren't bad, but again are shown only once.
The breakdown is 23 minutes on 2-3 zone offense, 9 minutes on 3-2 zone offense and 17 minutes on 1-3-1 with a 10 minute wrap-up and Q&A. As we get into the 3-2 and 1-3-1, it's obvious the players haven't really seen these defenses before so the offense sets don't come through as clearly.
One negative is the camera angle, which is relatively low making it harder to see what is happening when there 5v5 action. I do wish he had gone through things 5v0 for each set, so you could clearly see what was happening first before 5v5. Finally, I always like to see some breakdown drills, with or without shooting and there isn't a single drill to be found here.
This could have been better had he focused on just one or two zone offenses, but packing three into an hour means that things get skipped over. 3/5 stars, a good start but too much crammed into an hour. See other zone offense videos for the details.
