Take away your opponent's strength with the inside tie.
Matt Azevedo demonstrates a simple, yet versatile, set-up that every wrestler needs for his arsenal. The inside tie will open up your opponent, allowing you to score on either side of his body in many different ways.
Starting with the basic position, Coach Azevedo teaches you the six key points to controlling your opponent with the inside tie. He also demonstrates many ways to get into the inside tie including circling, using fakes, from a collar tie, through wrist control and more.
Once the basic position is establish, Azevedo shows you how to use the inside tie to attack your opponent with six takedown techniques:
Azevedo shows three different variations of each attack. What makes the inside tie so valuable is that it never changes, but the attack is different every time. That keeps your opponent guessing, which keeps him off balance and easier to score on.
You will also see the drills that Azevedo uses to train the inside tie. These drills focus on footwork and fakes, putting the combinations together and getting comfortable wrestling out of the inside tie position and using your attack hand.
The inside tie is easy to learn and is effective on any level - for any style of wrestler!

I feel Matt Azevedo is an overlooked and often ignored coach. He was a great competitor at the national and international level, but often his achievements are overshadowed by the bigger names in the sport.
That being said this is a great DVD, he teaches high percentage moves that have shown to be effective time and time again at a world class level.
The inside tie is a great position you can hit a lot of different takedowns from, and Matt does a great job in explaining the intricacies of the inside tie in a simple way you can put into practice immediately. He is straight to the point in his teaching, without skimping on the details that will show you how to make this position work.
Great DVD and great coach.
However this style of attack may not be for the heavy footed wrestler.
This is one my favorite DVDs. He goes into a lot of detail on everything. He first shows how to get to the inside control, which is fairly uncommon, showing I think four or five entries to the position from typical handfighting. He then shows how to set up about six different takedowns from the inside tie. For each takedown, he shows multiple set-ups, how to combo the set-ups, and common mistakes for each. Extremely comprehensive.
Coach Azevedo creates an informative DVD about the inside tie. His instructions are clear, concise, and detailed. As a high school coach, I find the drills at the end of the DVD the most useful. However, the entire presentation is 5 stars all the way. This is a worthy investment.
