John Smith's low single finishes are legendary. Now he shares his technique on the high single finish. Coach Smith covers eight different ways to finish once you secure the leg. These finishes include leg on the inside, on the outside, sag down, finish low, run the pipe, battling the hands and more. Smith shows how to secure the leg and the best way to take your opponent to the mat depending on the situation. In each area, Smith provides a variety of finishes, allowing you to find one that you are comfortable with.

I have always believed taking the single leg high is the best way to finish a takedown. John Smith being the head coach of OSU for so long, has learnt a thing or two about teaching, and does a great job in showing various finishes from the high single, in addition to dealing with the various counters your opponent might use. John Smith has always produced great DVDs with quality instruction that is hard to fault, and this DVD is no exception.
This is a pretty solid DVD. He shows about 9 overall finishes for the single leg from the high position. This is further broken down into leg on the inside, leg on the outside, and down low (running the pipe, and thigh pry).
The technique is clearly explained, although he can be pretty talkative sometimes, and often show multiple times from multiple angles. He talks about how to readjust once your opponent starts to recounter, which is good.
While the DVD is definitely good, I guess I don't feel this is quite a five star DVD because pretty much everything on this can be found elsewhere.
The difference between his dvd and others is he's shows good finishes and spends more time showing how to regain position after the defensive wrestler has started to counter so you can work your finishes.
