Coach Weir presents an extensive training package for your shot putters. Following a brief warm-up demonstration, Weir moves into a three-phase shot put lead-up drill progression utilizing medicine balls that assist in teaching both the throwing motion as well as footwork movement that teaches proper leg load and leg drive into the throw. Next, Weir breaks into shot put drills that simulate the foundations of footwork and throwing the shot. With the foundational shot put skills in place, but still outside of the ring, Weir shares his teaching and drill progression for the glide and the rotational techniques.
