In this "in cage" presentation, Head Coach John Nostrant of The Haverford School walks you through the most critical goalie fundamentals. He goes over position fundamentals in the net, the outlet pass, and footwork fundamentals including walking the line. Nostrant also shares the essential traits and qualities of successful goal keepers.

Assistant Coach Travis Loving demonstrates drills for body positioning and stick positioning. He begins with footwork drills and then goes through a proper warm up. Once the goalies are warmed up, they work on positioning drills on the dodge, behind the net with a dodge, and on the fast break.

Loving then drills the goalies on turns when the ball is behind the net and proper technique.

Moving into game-like situations the goalies work on shots with a screen, feeds to the crease, and outlet passing. Loving concludes with wall ball drills that work on proper footwork and stick movement.
