The soundless practice was a waste of time. Through out the Defensive video he kept mentioning about drills he will show but never did. The mental toughness drill made it appear that he was not that prepared and was making it up on the fly. There are some quality defensive information and drills but everything else was far from the description and hype.

Coaches,
I was at the production of this video taping project. Coach Knight was absolutely unbelievable and I was lucky enough to ask for and get all of his notes, which is about 30 pages of notes for this video project. His teaching techniques and progression of how he taught these fundamentals and drills is second to none. The reason Coach Knight wanted to put the practice and game footage into his videos was to reinforce and show that these techniques he put in the video were actually used in games and practice.
One of the unique teaching points of Coach Knight is conversion basketball, and that is what you get a great sense of in these videos. I have had the fortune of being with him for the last two weekends talk about basketball and a new video series we are doing with him. His evolution as a coach changed from a half-court practice atmosphere to a full-court situational atmosphere. I think the practice footage that was included gives you a greater appreciation for his teaching style and the atmosphere the players practiced in. I do wish that we would have had coach voice-over the practice sessions but these three videos are as good as advertised and the six that we are doing with him right now will be as good or better than any videos we have ever done! I hope you give the next videos a chance and enjoy them and learn as much as I have learned over the last two weeks with Coach Knight.
