Sean Miller: Dominating Man-to-Man Defense

We are a pack line system in our program, so I own most of the pack line DVDs on the market (Jim Boone Building Blocks of the Pack Line Defense, Chris Mack all-access, Matt Woodely Secrets of the Pack Line Defense, Matt Woodely Pack Line Modifications to Stop the Pick and Roll). This one one of the best and its not even close. The section about post defense is worth the money alone. His concepts on defending the post without trapping are very good; he even gives you a 3 around 1 drill to drive it home to your players. He also spends a good amount of time covering transition conversion and not allowing easy buckets and fast-breaks opportunities. This, along with the Chris Mack DVD, give you all the tools you need to add this to your program and starting dominating teams on the defensive end!

I am changing my program over to the Packline defense I purchased this DVD and Chirs Mack's DVD. I really enjoyed both of them. Coach Miller tells you about how the defense is run and how to guard situations, While Coach Mack teaches more breakdown drills. I was worried that getting both would be repetitive, but they are very good compliments of each other. If you run the Packline or want to learn how I would highly suggest these two DVD's. If I had to buy again and had a bigger budget I would probably get the All Access DVD's though. I think it is easier when it is in a practice setting and using their own players rather then using some team in a clinic setting that doesn't run what they are teaching.

This DVD was very helpful in explaining the philosophy of the Pack line. I have used it in conjunction with a few others and each time I review it I get that more familiar with what I need to know to implement it.

The work on Post Defence has been most helpful.

I liked the DVD. I wished he would have talked about positioning more and went through how he defends certain screens more in depth. It was useful and I will use some of the things he talked about.

Great video. Can't go wrong with miller. He explains everything you need to know about the pack. I like the way he teaches and he has some great drills.

I really didn't care for this video. Maybe because I just finished watching Chris Mack's all access tape. Concepts are certainly the same but and both great teachers but I think you get so much more from the practice situation. It does provide you with enough information to implement the defense.

Coach Miller presents his M2M/Packline concepts with a lot of energy and conviction. It is obvious throughout the clinic, that he is very passionate about this system, which adds even more credibility to it in our eyes. The sections on Post Defense and Screen coverage alone justifies the purchase price for us and we will be looking to incorporate those ideas into our system this season. With a good mixture of concepts and courtwork, we highly recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about or boost their own M2M/Packline system.

We run coach Millers pack-line defense, and this presented some really good points! Our team is really benefitting from the post Wall-up and Walk-throughs! It's a solid dvd from front to finish, but I would have been happy with just the post "D" part....Recommended!!!

Coach Miller is a good teacher. As has been previously posted, combine this with the info from Coach Bennett's dvd and you have a good basis for forming a man to man philosophy.

I really enjoyed this dvd. I am a big fan of help defense and stopping teams getting to the ring.

If you are looking to implement the Pack-Line Defense, then this DVD is the one to get. Coach Miller is an outstanding teacher and clearly explains the differnt points to this defense. A must forany defensive coaches library

I ordered this video to see a different type of man defense as I have always been a force outside type of man defense. Some things are really good but there is not a lot of ball pressure or denial in this pack line defense. It is very well taught and has some good drills and some concepts I will use in my man to man pressure

this is a great dvd to have in any collection. Defense is the corner stone to any solid system and Sean Miller made me feel like this is the right defense for my system. I look forward to adding this defense to my program. Thank you Sean, good job.

This was an aweseme instructional video in my opinion. I thought it was more detailed than Dick Bennet's Pack-Line Video. Coach Miller uses very basic terminology and emphasized major teaching points. Great demonstrations for this defense as well. Very beneficial if you are implementing the pack line defense.

A very good dvd. If you like defense,he really has some great ideas,and he makes you think.
