Gary Gait: Coaching Boys Lacrosse - U11 Skills & Drills

This is absolute garbage. A waist of money. Championship should be ashamed for putting their name on this. Looks as if they said, "Hey Gary, run these kids through some drills and we'll pay you some money." I've coached at the youth, middle school and high school levels and have generally been pleased with the Championship Production videos I've purchased. This however, is one for the trash heap. New or experienced coaches should avoid at all costs and Championship Productions should permanently remove from its catalogue. I would recommend getting an experienced youth coach or coaches to put together a series of youth videos who know the youth game; this is sorely missing from the Championship catalogue. Simply having a 'name' do a youth video does not highlight the nuances of how to teach at the youth level. I will never buy another video from Mr. Gait.

Fairly disappointed with this DVD. Expected much more. No argument that Gait is one of the best players to ever play lacrosse, if not the best. I have much respect for him and what he has done for and meant to the game. This DVD however, will not be much help to coaches (U-11 or otherwise) IMO. Gary runs players though very basic drills,(nothing wrong here), but where the DVD lacks is in overall instruction in the "proper" way to execute the drills. Gait does not bother to correct players who are obviously doing the drills incorrectly, (especially in the Over-the-soulder drill) additionally he offers them very little feedback. There are better options available for coaches looking for help for their coaching at this age level.

Good basic drills to show kids. Great for first time coaches.Would have liked to see some plays for youths to learn.
