Building Explosive Special Teams: Secret Strategies & Proven Drills

Coach Hilliker begins this presentation with an overview of the blocking technique that he teaches to his punt return unit. These techniques will give the punt return unit the best chance to create explosive plays in the punt return game while minimizing the chance for costly penalties. 

Hilliker gives a thorough explanation of how he teaches the pin technique from the initial strike, to the downfield finish from both an in-phase and out-of-phase position. Coach Hilliker also explains how he grades each player and how this is used to provide feedback and encourage competitiveness in a safe environment.
