Her style of basketball is about scoring in three areas: off the break, off turnovers and off the offensive glass. Favorite Drills begin with shooting. Drills include one-handed shooting, two-handed shooting, jump shooting and the 3-ball/2-player drill. Ball handling is an everyday emphasis at UNC. Hatchell shows her best ball handling drills such as 2-ball dribbling, 2-ball alternate and the stutter-step/explode drill. Correct passing and catching fundamentals are taught in Hatchell's favorite passing drills. Freezing the defender is another skill taught to enhance passing skills. Using an easy motion offense drill, Hatchell puts in a solid motion offense with only two rules. This offense is applicable to any level from junior high to college. An excellent trapping drill is demonstrated, which is the foundation for their trapping defensive system. Also included are her favorite rebounding, fast break, 3-point shot and finishing drills. The final drill deals with Coach Hatchell's strategy and organization for timeouts; this is imperative for productive timeouts and execution on the floor! 63 minutes. 2007. Ratings & Reviews Sylvia Hatchell: 16 Favorite Practice Drills on July 11, 2012 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by Crafty These are basic fundamental drills applicable to any level of play. Beginning coaches will find this video very useful. It's unfortunate that Coach Hatchell did not have her own players to demonstrate these drills more proficiently as some of the demonstrators were uninspired. The coach is a bit rushed for time here and there. The advertising description is accurate for once - you are truly getting what the description says you are getting. 4 of 4 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? The drills Coach Hatchell demonstrated were very basic. I agree they can be usefull but I was expecting more than the everyday drills most coaches use at the high school level. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Coach Hatchell gives some great tips in this video and points out some things that really make you think. I don't usually get much out of videos because I am pretty set in my ways, but this one has something for everyone. If you can only afford one dvd this season, buy this one! 5 of 5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? With this DVD, I was hoping to see her in action, and was NOT disappointed. Coach Hatchell makes some good points and shows us how to focus on the little things in drills so that the drills are much more effective. I couldn't fly to see her at a coaching clinic, so this DVD was a nice alternative - and I can rewind it! JS 7 of 7 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
