Join Coach Bollant and his players as they breakdown the components to this highly effective motion offense. This is not your traditional X's and O's clinic! Coach Bollant stresses execution, timing, and intensity above running from Point A to Point B. He provides you with high-intensity, fundamental passing and cutting drills will make your team better, one player at a time. These essential concepts, drills and actions will give every coach insight into what makes the Wisconsin Green Bay program so successful. Coach Bollant runs his players through their mini-clinic workout drills to start this DVD. His focus on developing the player first is clearly seen and the precise execution of the drills demonstrate his attention to detail. Drills such as Start, Stop and Turn and his Four Line Drill will develop the fundamentals necessary to have success in any offense--but, especially in the motion offense. Drills such as the V-Cut and L-Cut drill will help your team learn to initiate this offense through varying speeds and timing. Bollant doesn't limit his instruction to just the court though. He discusses many aspects that are necessary to developing a solid team. His four ways to communicate a screen are just as important as his on-court lessons on how to set the screen. Bollant also runs his team through a series of post drills where the focus is on the work the players do before they catch the ball. This emphasis on footwork and body control will assist your players in creating easy shots for themselves once the ball arrives. After coach Bollant covers the proper footwork and post up angles, he introduces you to his 4-out-1-in motion principles necessary to put the offense in place. Understanding the timing within a fast-flowing offense will make this motion tough to guard physically and mentally. Lastly, you'll see five highly effective sets that either lead into the motion or can be implemented as quick-hitters to exploit a defense's weakness. With a backdoor play, a 1-4-high set, 3-point plays and a secondary break, your team will be virtually unstoppable.Matt Bollant's motion fundamentals will allow you to run a quick, fast-flowing motion offense with such speed and precision your opponents will be left in the dust.65 minutes. 2012.Secondary Break and Early Offensewith Mike Divilbiss, former University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Associate Head Women's Basketball CoachRun with a purpose and take advantage of scoring opportunities after a made or missed basket.Widely respected women's basketball coach Mike Divilbliss breaks down the secondary break into a system suited for all levels of basketball instruction. Matt Bollant shows you how he builds winning offensive and defensive systems in a live practice setting. Bollant's practice starts with a 5-0 offensive shell drill and several drills to teach players to cut, communicate, and play with poise on the offensive end and in their primary and secondary breaks. He uses a rapid fire drill for practicing high percentage game shots out of the Phoenix offense. This is followed by full court 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and block-hold-release drills which emphasize offensive fundamentals in the half-court game and the primary and secondary break. These drills are a great way to help your players make mental transitions during games and to get your players' "brains flowing."Teach your players how to be aggressive using full court "blood drills" to build an attack mentality in the open court. Pick up defensive fundamentals with a 3-on-3 Cut Throat Drill that emphasizes closing out low, communicating with teammates (offensively and defensively), being in a triple threat position, utilizing the jump stop, and making sure his players do not use a "butt ball" action. The defensive emphasis continues as Bollant teaches "closeouts inside the V." He uses a 1-on-1 drill to demonstrate how to square up to a defender off the closeout. He puts an emphasis on teaching high hands, long and low first step, and making sure you don't open the gate. You'll also see a 4-on-3 passing drill to teach defenders how to communicate and pressure the ball while making your opponent think about their next pass. The practice session ends with variations of 4-on-4 shell drill. Bollant takes you through his layers of shell to teach his players the cutting and screening action of their motion offense. He uses 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 shell to create a tough practice mentality and for game preparation on both the offensive and defensive end of the court. You will learn how to build solid defensive principles and pressure, how to create good help side defense and help the helper action, and how to move and think without the ball. Coach finishes up his practice with "3 Ways" Drill to put it all together. Get practice ideas to get your players to think quicker and play faster. 97 minutes. 2012.All Access videos are designed to allow viewers from all over the world to see how successful coaches run their practices in a "live" practice setting.
