Work on these drills after the athletes have had the chance to warm up and stretch.
As a sprint and relay coach at the University of Arkansas, Doug Case, understands what it takes to be a great hurdler and how to develop specific skills. The lead leg drill will give you a good idea of how to get over the hurdle without getting your foot blocked. The trail leg drill helps you pull your trail leg through, flat over the hurdle.
Hurdling is about setting a rhythm, so with all hurdler drills it is key to set a good rhythm for your steps and motions.
