Auburn coach Richard Quick, a legendary college swimming coach whose long career included NCAA championships and the Olympics, passed away at age 66. Quick was a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame and his 13 NCAA team titles are the most ever by a head coach. Quick’s coaching career included stints as Auburn, Stanford, Texas, Iowa State, and SMU. He was also the United States’ Olympic head coach in 1998, 1996, and 2000. Quick was a great friend of Championship Productions and authored three incredible series with us – Championship Winning Swimming, Becoming a Champion Swimmer, and Richard Quick’s Faster Fast Freestyle Series. We have enjoyed working with Quick and his death will leave a large void within the swimming community.
