Don Meyer, Northern State University Men’s Basketball Coach, was awarded the prestigious Jimmy V Perseverance Award during ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards. The award was presented to Meyer on Wednesday, July 15, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The ESPY Awards aired on ESPN on Sunday, July 19.
Meyer, the winningest men’s basketball coach in NCAA history, finished the season with 910 career wins. Last fall, Meyer was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in the amputation of part of his left leg and was diagnosed with cancer.
