Fun Small Sided Games to Make Your Practice More Exciting!

Learn small sided games in this segment featuring Kathy Litzau, a former volleyball player at the University of Notre Dame.  Coach Litzau will show you 4-on-4 and 3-on-3 competitions that provide your players the chance to practice their volleyball skills in a game-like setting. Anyone involved in coaching or teaching youth volleyball will love this instructional clip.

Using an age appropriate ball and smaller playing area; player’s Serve, Bump, Set, and Spike score points in mini-games of 4v4 or 3v3 on a half court. The entire game is learned via the best method: PLAY.

Variations:

1. Have players rotate while the ball is in play
2. Players on the losing side lose a player with each point lost. They can gain players back by winning the rally. The game ends when all players on a side are eliminated.
