Micah Lancaster is a World Renowned Skill Development Trainer, and has worked with Kobe Bryant as well as many other NBA players. Lancaster believes it is important for young players to learn to use contact to create space. While many times the defense is willing to take the risk of being called for a foul, Lancaster wants the offensive player to use his off hand to not just protect, but also be the aggressor while he has his dribble.
Dribble Knockout Series: Pound Dribble
Athlete Movement: Facing a padded wall and using a boxing glove on the non-dribbling hand, players will stay in a stance and use a pound dribble while aggressively throwing hard boxing jabs with their off hand. Reps are done in short 8-10 second bursts with short rests in between.
