Tim McClellan (M.S. CSCS) has coached Olympic medalists and NCAA All-Americans and here he guides you through a warm-up. This is designed to effectively activate the nervous system, lubricate joints, quicken the feet, and prepare the body for explosive movements. McClellan uses the agility ladder, hops, and jumps to progress through a dynamic warm-up.

Anne Kordes, University of Louisville Head Coach, breaks down attacking fundamentals by beginning with teaching proper “dynamic footwork.” Coach Kordes emphasizes the importance of efficient footwork mechanics in setting the athlete up in a position to create vertical leap from their momentum.

Work on Team Communication with this Two Ball Drill!

2013 NCAA D-III Championship Coach, Thanh Pham, provides a drill in which the goal is for players to read the game, recognize patterns, and increase communication on the court. This game-like drill helps develop team communication, conditioning, and awareness. 

Two Ball Simultaneous

Setters start in right back and toss two balls at the same time. Only tips and rolls are allowed until one ball is dead.  When one ball is dead, the other ball is played out.

Get Your Setters to Create Openings for Your Offense!

2012 Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year, Jim Moore, describes the best lineups to give the setter the best position from which to penetrate and run the offense effectively. In this drill, setters must start in position 1 in serve receive and penetrate to the setting position within a set amount of time.
