Improve Sprints/Hurdles with the Under Forward Shot Throw Drill!

Kansas State University Head Track and Field Coach, Cliff Rovelto, shows us a great Under Forward Shot Throw Drill which works on hip activation, a key element in the start of sprint/hurdle events. This is a great drill to teach both hip activation and the importance of multi-throw training in your program.

Coach Rovelto starts the drill off by explaining the importance of multi-throw training in the sprint/hurdle events and any power events. This drill can be done all year and in any gym (with medicine balls) or track complex to help give greater meaning to importance of hip activation during any sprint/hurdle event.
