Bob Knight’s Insight on Defining Player Roles and Creating Success!

In 1984, Bob Knight, coached the USA Olympic Men’s Basketball Team to a gold medal in the Summer Games in Los Angeles. Over his collegiate coaching career, Coach Knight won over 900 games at Army, Indiana, and Texas Tech.  Listen in as Hall of Fame Coach, Bob Knight, talks about coaching philosophy and what he believes should go into winning. One of the big factors, which he believes goes into being successful as a team, is to define roles among your players.

Teaching Points: Coach Knight believes it’s critical that each player should be aware of his or her’s strengths and weaknesses. It is important to adjust your style of play to your personnel. He also stresses that you need to communicate with each player and make sure he or she is aware of what he or she needs to do, or not do, to put the team in position to win.
