Iowa State Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Fred Hoiberg, has implemented an offensive system that can light up a scoreboard with numerous scoring options every time down the floor. Follow along as Coach Hoiberg shows his flex set with several scoring options as well as an effective counter to get the ball inside.

Counter Option

Player Movements: On the pass from the point guard to the trailer, 2 will still make a hard baseline flex cut. This time, however, the trailer will ball fake the reverse pass and pass back to the point guard who fakes down and pops back out the wing. As soon as 5’s man helps on the flex cut, 5 will bury him in the lane to get a deep post catch.

Teaching Points: Make sure to maintain good spacing throughout the drill.

The previous clip can be seen on Championship Productions’ DVD “Fred Hoiberg: Transition Basketball with Six Secondary Break Sets.” To view the latest video selections on Secondary Break.
