University of Maryland Head Coach, Kerry McCoy, provides you with instruction on how to use power and positioning. See how to pin your opponents with a bottom leg turk from a cross knee breakdown.
Cross Knee Breakdown to a Bottom Leg Turk
Instruction: Off the cross knee breakdown, pull the opponent’s bottom leg out and make sure that your shoulder pressure stays on the hip flexor; your hips should be toward his head to get this pressure. Next, secure his foot, grab it and push it down onto the mat. Then, slide the back leg, the turk leg, in knee-deep to the top of his bottom thigh. Immediately slide the front knee up and pinch your legs together to secure the bottom leg. Turn your opponent by elevating the bottom leg with your leg. Push off with the front foot and turn his hips. You will finish parallel to your opponent with your head on the opposite side.
