In this segment, the athletes work on the mat with instruction from 1972 Olympic Freestyle Champion, Dan Gable. Athletes will be able to work on their control with a lifting and riding drill.

From a waist lock, the top man lifts the bottom man off the mat and returns him back to the mat. The bottom man immediately stands back up and the drill repeats for the allotted time. Second, the athletes go through a near wrist ride drill in which the goal for the top man is to keep the bottom man float for 20 seconds. The bottom man is to keep working up to his base.

Take a look at an additional clip from the DVD, Dan Gable: Coaching Mental Toughness on the Mat.  Also, view other Dan Gable videos from our massive Wrestling DVD collection!
