This warm-up routine from coach Bob Sanger of West Hancock High School will help your athletes achieve success. Coach Sanger has been the track and field coach at West Hancock High School for over 40 years, and has won four state track and field team titles. The goal of the warmup is not just to prepare athletes for one event, but for overall conditioning, and serves a motivational process of bringing the entire team together for a positive mind-set before event work begins.
Coach Sanger’s warm-up routine is designed for all his track and field athletes. In smaller high schools, athletes may be required to compete in a variety of event areas. This warm-up is from the pre-meet day, with a competition scheduled the next day.
