Strengthen Your Defense with These Skillful Moves!

Three-time All American Hudson Taylor gives you everything you need to know to become a successful wrestler in the upper weights. These are the same techniques he used to become Maryland’s first ever three-time All-American and its all-time winningest wrestler.  Learn some great offensive and defensive maneuvers to dominate your opponent.

In this drill the attacking partner will hit leg attacks. The defending partner first blocks only with his head, in an effort to learn to block shots with his head. Next, the defending partner can use his head and his hands/palms. Finally, the defending partner can use his head, hands, and forearms. Taylor emphasizes the ability to “hit” our opponent with our forearms in a legal way. This will discourage our opponent from attacking again. Blocking with the head and hands is essential for all wrestlers and this drill helps develop this skill on the feet.
