In this week’s edition of All-Access, we take you to Smithfield, Rhode Island for an exclusive look inside of a Bryant University men’s lacrosse practice. Watch as head coach Mike Pressler walks through an offensive play for his squad, diagrams it in the locker room and illustrates precise player movements and roles.
This exclusive behind-the-scenes look shows Pressler going over the “Step-out Play” featured in Bryant’s man-up offense. First, the head coach dissects the preferred 3-3 play but then details a contingency plan, moving from a 3-3 set and into a 1-3-2. However, no matter which play, they both put a great deal of pressure on the defense to react by just moving around a few offensive pieces.
Bryant is coming off an impressive 12-5 campaign in 2010, which marked the second straight season the team finished with 10 wins or more. The 2011 season will only be Bryant’s third year as a Division I men’s lacrosse program and the squad is now eligible to compete for an at-large NCAA tournament berth in the spring.
