In just six years at Duke, head coach Beth Bozman has turned the Duke field hockey program into a top tier unit, as the Blue Devils have been a consistent presence in the national rankings. Bozman’s team advanced to four consecutive Final Fours from 2003-06, finishing as the national runner-up in three of those occasions (2003-05).
Coach Jim Berkman, the all-time winningest coach in NCAA men’s lacrosse history, has led Salisbury University to its 22nd consecutive NCAA appearance (32nd overall). The Sea Gulls are 18-1 on the season and ranked #2 in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll. They’ve earned a first-round bye and have the pleasure of playing at Sea Gull Stadium as they begin their play in the tournament on Saturday night. Salisbury has played for the national championship in six of the last seven seasons.
Championship Productions has recently released four new softball DVDs featuring Tim Walton. Walton is the head softball coach at the University of Florida, where he has compiled over 250 victories in five seasons. His teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament four of the last six seasons. The Gators won the 2008 & 2009 SEC championships, and his teams also advanced to the Women’s College World Series.

The NCAA Division III Regionals feature some familiar programs. Central College and the University of St. Thomas will both compete in the Indianola, Iowa Regional hosted by Simpson College.
Central College, coached by 4X NCAA Champion George Wares, enters the regional with a 30-12 overall record. The #14 ranked Dutch received the region’s #5 seed and will play Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) in the first round.
The University of St. Thomas, coached by 3X NCAA champion and the all-time winningest DIII coach, John Tschida, enters the regional with a 37-6 overall record. The #23 ranked Tommies received the region’s #6 seed and will play Simpson College (IA) in the first round.
The Abilene Christian baseball team, coached by Britt Bonneau, claimed their second straight Lone Star Conference baseball championship. The conference championship earned the 11th-ranked Wildcats (46-13) the league’s automatic berth into this week’s NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament. The Wildcats will compete with Central Missouri, Emporia State, Incarnate Word, St. Mary’s, and Nebraska – Omaha.
