Maryland Field Hockey Ranked #1 in Preseason Poll!

The University of Maryland field hockey team has been selected as the #1 team in the 2009 Preseason Kookaburra / NFHCA DI Poll. Maryland, coached by Missy Meharg, Tjerk Van Herwaarden, and Marybeth Freeman, will look to repeat their 2008 NCAA title and win their 7th NCAA championship. The rest of the NFHCA rankings include:
1. Maryland
2. Wake Forest
3. Syracuse
4. North Carolina
5. Connecticut
6. Virginia
7. Princeton
8. Michigan State
9. Iowa (Coached by Tracey Griesbaum and Lisa Cellucci)
10. Duke (Coached by Beth Bozman)
16. Old Dominion (Coached by Beth Anders)
