Sonny Karas is the head football coach at Spring High School located in Spring, Texas.  Karas has compiled over 100 career victories and have taken the Lions to the state playoffs in 2002, 2003, and 2004.  Karas is a Greater Houston 5A Coach of the Year and his system has produced the Texas Offensive Player of the Year five times!




Notre Dame Ranked #2 in NSCAA DI Women’s Soccer Poll!

The NSCAA / adidas Division I Soccer Rankings have recently been announced.  North Carolina received 32 first place votes and are ranked #1.  Notre Dame, coached by Randy Waldrum, is ranked #2.  The rest of the ranking include:

Maryland Field Hockey Ranked #1 in Preseason Poll!

The University of Maryland field hockey team has been selected as the #1 team in the 2009 Preseason Kookaburra / NFHCA DI Poll.  Maryland, coached by Missy Meharg, Tjerk Van Herwaarden, and Marybeth Freeman, will look to repeat their 2008 NCAA title and win their 7th NCAA championship.  The rest of the NFHCA rankings include:

Goldman to be Inducted in Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame!

Indiana University Head Wrestling Coach, Duane Goldman, has been named to the Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2009.  The induction ceremony will take place in Iowa City, IA on September 5.  While at Iowa wrestling for Dan Gable, Goldman was a four-time Big Ten Champion, four-time All-American and reached the NCAA championship match in all four years of his collegiate career.  His perfect 36-0 record in 1986 ended with the 190 lbs. NCAA championship and set the Iowa record for best winning percentage in a year.
