Geno Auriemma, UCONN Finish 2009 Undefeated!

Geno Auriemma and the University of Connecticut clinched its third perfect season (39-0) and sixth NCAA National Championship in the program’s history as the Huskies defeated the Louisville Cardinals 76-54 in the 2009 title game at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Auriemma has guided the Huskies to six NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championships, 15 Big East Championships, 14 Big East Tournament Championships, 10 Final Fours, 4 straight 30-win seasons, 16 straight “Sweet 16″ appearances, 21 straight NCAA appearances, and three undefeated seasons.  Auriemma is a 6X Naismith Coach of the Year, 3X WBCA National Coach of the Year, and has been inducted into the Naismith, Women’s Basketball, & National Italian American Sports Hall of Fames.
