Brands, Hawkeyes Win Second Straight Big Ten Title

The top-ranked Hawkeye wrestling team won its second straight Big Ten title, and the school’s 33rd, while crowning two individual champions. The Hawkeyes and coaches Tom Brands & Terry Brands tallied 141 points over the two day tournament and qualified nine wrestlers for the NCAA Championships. Tom Brands was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year for the second straight season and Brent Metcalf was named Outstanding Wrestler for the second straight season.
