Pete Newell, one of the most influential coaches in the history of basketball, died at age 93 in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. The basketball great won a national championship at the University of California in 1959, an Olympic Gold Medal in 1960, and hosted a basketball camp notorious for post players. Coach Newell impacted the game of basketball significantly and will be missed by many.
