Sportsmanship in Athletics

Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing defines the word SPORTSMANSHIP.  Athletic directors and coaches often stress the importance of this conduct & attitude, but poor sportsmanship often overshadows the good.  The following link provides video footage of an act of good sportsmanship - members of a softball team offered to carry an opposing team member around the bases after she hit a homerun.
