Women’s Final Four is Set!
Connecticut, Stanford, Tennessee, and LSU have advanced to the 2008 Women’s Final Four in Tampa, FL. The semifinals will feature Connecticut (coached by Geno Auriemma) vs. Stanford (coached by Tara VanderVeer) and Tennessee (coached by Pat Summitt) vs. LSU on April 6. The winners will advance to the championship game on April 8.
#1 seed Connecticut advanced through Greensboro region by beating Cornell, Texas (coached by Gail Goestenkors), ODU, and Rutgers (coached by C. Vivian Stringer) in the regional finals.
#1 seed Tennessee advanced through the Oklahoma City region by beating Oral Roberts, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Texas A & M.
#2 seed Stanford advanced through the Spokane region by beating Cleveland State, UTEP, Pittsburgh, and #1 seed Maryland (coached by Brenda Frese).
#2 seed LSU advanced through New Orleans region by beating Jackson State, Marist, Oklahoma State, and UNC (coached by Sylvia Hatchell).
