2008 Iowa Volleyball Coaches Clinic

The 2008 Iowa Volleyball Coaches Clinic will be held at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, IA on February 29 – March 1, 2008.  The featured clinicians are:

Russ Rose (Penn State University) – Coach Rose captured his 2nd NCAA DI Championship in 2007 & was also selected as the 2007 AVCA Division I Coach of the Year.  Rose is only the third coach in Division I to pass the 900 career win plateau and owns a winning percentage of .853.

Christy Johnson (Iowa State University) – Coach Johnson was a 2X All-American at the University of Nebraska and has guided the ISU Cyclones to their second-straight berth in the NCAA tournament.  The Cyclones ended their 2007 season in the Regional Semifinal and finished 17th in the AVCA Coaches Poll.

Dave Shondell(Purdue University) – Coach Shondell has led the Purdue Boilermakers to four consecutive NCAA tournaments & a 3rd place Big Ten finish in 2007. 

Kirsten Bernthal Booth(Creighton University) – Coach Booth became Creighton’s all-time winningest coach & picked up career win 200, in 2007.

Tom Keating (former Dubuque Wahlert HS Coach) – Coach Keating was an 11X Iowa State Champion, 3X State Runner-Up, 17X Conference Champion, and compiled over 770 victories during his tenure.  He was also a 7X Iowa Coach of the Year and was the National Coach of the Year in 2003.

Dawn Sullivan (Iowa State University Assistant Coach) – Coach Sullivan is responsible for the outside hitters and has recorded three of the top-10 single season hitting percentages in school history (in three years as a coach).  As a player, Sullivan was names All-American and All-Big 12 as a senior.

Terry Gamble (Iowa Western Head Coach) – Coach Gamble has just completed his third season at Iowa Western, finishing 7th at the NJCAA Championships.  Gamble & his team won the 2006 NJCAA Championship and he was selected as the 2006 AVCA National Coach of the Year and the NJCAA Division I Coach of the Year.
