We played against a team this year that ran a matchup zone similar to Hewitt's with a good shot blocker. They kept him in the middle and matched up around him. It was extremelly difficult because we couldnt get any spacing on the perimeter and when we took them off the dribble we ran into the shot blocker. One thing that did hurt that type of defense was reversing the ball into a quick overload where they had to quickly matchup to the overloaded side.
hey what do you guys think would be the best defense to run with great shotblockers, i was thinking about the paul hewitt 3-2 point zone tape but im not sure, if you guys could help me out with that it would be appreciated.
I would research the "Pack-Line" defense by Dick Bennett at Washington State. You would keep teams under 50 points a game.
