The Ultimate Askren Wrestling DVD Set
on February 19, 2015
I own 45 Wrestling DVDs and have watched them multiple times. Obviously with that many they cover every topic known to wrestling. I bought the Askren DVD set not expecting anything new but more out of my obsession with learning and watching DVDs. I must say that I was surprised to find that this dvd set actually taught me several new things. They aren't the most verbal and detailed oriented explanations I've heard (Wade Schalles and John Smith got them beat on level of detail). But I must say they throw out a lot of pearls, ideas, philosophy, and moves that I had not seen at all on the multitude of DVDs that I own. The sealing out escapes and explanations that I've seen no where else alone are worth the price of the dvd. Also, excellent explanations on hand fighting and tie ups, single leg take down, funk wrestling, finishing failed takedowns, takedown counters, front headlocks. I mean honestly, these are just a handful of standouts. About the only dvd I watched that was below average compared to others I own was there Breakdown DVD, much better breakdown dvds out there. But that was the only 1 out of 11 DVDs that I'd say that about. All others are worth every penny and then some. Honestly, I held back on buying these dvds for months, thinking it may not be worth the cost. But now that I've watched them I have no regrets. Heck, if I lost them I'd pay $200 again to make sure I got them back in my collection because they are that valuable to me. Great set!
