It is mandatory in wrestling that you be good in the bottom position. If you can't escape you have no opportunities to score. Under Coach Strobel, the Lehigh wrestlers are considered the hardest group of wrestlers to ride. Strobel passes along his philosophy and some tips on escaping. He covers three areas: Good position, problem solving and attitude. He touches two very common escapes - the stand-up and switch; and demonstrates how to escape from a tight waist, spiral ride, ankle grab and leg ride. He also covers a couple of tricks on wrist defense and how to get off your belly. Don't let your opponent ride you. This tape will help your wrestlers be in the right position to escape.

I have ordered over 20 dvd's from Championship Productions and this one is definately in the top 5. It covers an awesome amount of material in less than an hour. I highly suggest this dvd for anyone who wants a good comprehensive lesson in the bottom position. This is also a dvd that is not shot at a clinic so it is up closer and doesnt have any questions from the crowd. Well written and presented by Coach Strobel. Good job on this one!!!!!
Strobel shows very clever ways of countering the top man's attacks. Practical if he does this, you should do this. He teaches skills and philosophy. He covers many common positions.
I bought this on VHS tape and have been going over it with my three sons. They are all first year wrestlers and it have been VERY helpful. Greg takes you step by step the basics of escapes. The techniques are easy to follow, I would definitely recommend this for beginner/intermediate wrestlers. I will rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
