Improve your youth wrestling program with strategies from one of the top prep coaches in the nation.

Russ Cozart has built a wrestling dynasty that includes 22 state high school championships and an impressive 459 match win streak simply referred to as "The Streak." The foundation of his program is built on his strong youth programs. Now you can learn the secrets behind Cozart's feeder system and how you can implement this critical element into your program.

Coach Cozart shares an arsenal of tips, techniques, philosophies and drills developed over his impressive 30-year career. Using a lecture format, he discusses how to develop an effective feeder program and describes the structure of his daily workouts for youth wrestlers.

With the help of two members of his youth club, Coach Cozart moves to the mat to demonstrate key drills and skills. You will see over 20 warm-up drills that combine gymnastics, strength training and wrestling specific skills that will form a solid base for any successful wrestler. These drills build flexibility, balance, power and speed, while training penetration steps, stance, motion and finishing techniques.

Cozart discusses a set of essential moves that will give young wrestlers a solid foundation that they can further develop as they move from club sports to prep athletics. Included are skills for the Blast Double, the Blast Single, riding techniques and more. He also touches on skills for freestyle and Greco wrestling.

This DVD offers everything you need to work with young wrestlers. Incorporate these drills into your workouts and watch the confidence and skill levels of your athletes soar.

I was not gonna buy this dvd because the title is awkward. Do I really need to build a feeder system for a high school wrestling program? No I don't. But I bought it just because I've seen the movie "the Streak" about Cozart's wrestling team & I figured anything he says is likely useful. I own the full set of Eric Akin & Dave Mills youth wrestling DVD set and dozens more to compare this to. This is an awesome DVD worth adding to the collection. All wrestling practices from all different programs that I've had my son in always start with a "warm up" of about 30 minutes. A lot of them just jogging, flipping, rolling, and double leg takedown & sweep single knee slide type stuff. Here Coach Cozart mixes it up with very targeted warm up drills. Some of these drills I have not seen in any DVD series or in any of the 6 different wrestling locations I have taken my son. Extremely useful warm up drills that Coach Cozart made up himself which is why I've seen it nowhere else. He is a genius and it is no wonder he is such a good coach. I am so glad that I bought this dvd and I wish he'd change the title to attract more parents and coaches to buy it because it is more than just about building a feeder system. It is about building a young wrestler into the finest wrestler.

I just got done watching this DVD and it's outstanding. If you're just getting into youth coaching and need some direction this is for you. Or if you've been working with kids a long time but maybe need some new ideas then do yourself a favor and pick up this DVD. I learned a ton and you will to.
