Stoll begins his presentation in the classroom where, backed by detailed whiteboard notes, he looks first at skill development and then at the competitive phase of the summer season.
During the first phase, Stoll puts his athletes through drill-based double workouts with no specific conditioning goals. He then outlines a strength-training program that focuses on heavy weights, stamina tests and strength tests. Consistent with every phase of his program, Stoll explains the importance of developing both a sense of fun and competition to keep young athletes motivated.
