In this video, Coach Guilbeau demonstrates a number of drills and strategies for practice that will help you prepare your team for competition. The drills included will create a fun and exciting practice environment while reinforcing the development of the well-rounded game; emphasizing quickness in the feet and hands, visual anticipation and recognition on the court, and general conditioning. Strategically, Guilbeau focuses on singles and doubles play. In singles, he demonstrates court positioning during a baseline rally, the use of drop shots into difficult positions, and developing variety from the ground (topspin, drive, extreme angle, and slice). Doubles strategies covered include unique ways to cover the middle of the court at the net, applying more pressure on the serving team, and closing while partner executes a down the line overhead.
