Coach Wells, with over 900 wins, has developed lethal offensive teams and has successfully utilized the slap-hitter as an offensive threat. In this video, Coach Wells has a former player and slap hitting specialist demonstrate and explain what it takes to become a successful slap hitter. They first discuss the process of converting and developing a slap hitter, advantages of slap hitting, and bat selection for slap hitters. Next, they discuss and demonstrate the sequencing of slap hitting by walking through the box positions, footwork, hand motion, body movement, types of slaps, making adjustments, and utilizing the fake slap and bunts. Coach Wells then shares multiple progression drills to develop and perfect the mechanics and timing of slap hitting using tee work, toss drills, and pitching machines. Slap hitters will learn how to effectively read the defense, gain bat control, put the ball down, and get down the line for team success!

I thought it was poorly done, too much talking (filler) and very little drills. Just not impressed, I recently purchased several video's and this one was the weakest by far....

Slap Hitting 101

This video does an excellent job demonstrating technique and how to use progressive drills to teach the skill properly. This is done by Linda's former player / 5th year assistant who set Arizona State batting records and made her career as a lefty slapper.

Linda does a nice job of explaining technique. They clearly discuss and demonstrate not only how to slap hit but how you can be a "triple threat". In addition they touch on reading the defense to help the hitter decide what swing to use.

They do a good job of covering the different aspects of bat selection for the lefty slapper. Why you would want to use a barrel bat vs. end loaded bat.

One video feature that's really helpful is the freeze frames next to the live motion as they demonstrate the slap hitting footwork. This really helps illustrate proper form and position.

It's a shorter video but effective.
